Mr. Syed Mohammad Sohail

Biography

Syed Mohammad Sohail, an engineer with an MBA, is currently the CEO of Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa and its Cluster, covering the Coastal Region in Kenya. Prior to assuming this position Sohail was the Regional CEO of Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS), Central Asia, which he assumed in July 2017. In his earlier appointment, from November 2014 till June 2017, he was the CEO for the Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu and its Cluster, covering the Western Region in Kenya, where he led the successful turnaround of the hospital and cluster positioning the unit for further growth and expansion.

Earlier, Sohail was associated with Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi-Pakistan from 1998 to 2001 and then from 2005 to 2014. In his last appointment at AKUH, Karachi, he was the Senior Administrator of the Radiology services.

Sohail brings a wealth of experience in health services management including exposure to emerging healthcare initiatives such as person-centered care and patient safety standards and his skills and expertise in these areas have been extremely beneficial across AKHS.
